Mark Samuel

Mark is a family law solicitor. He was born in Brighton and then lived in London for a number of years before finishing his secondary education in Worthing. He attended Birmingham University where he obtained an honours degree in Law and Politics before moving to the school of Law in Guildford to complete the academic side of his legal training. He qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has worked as a solicitor at various firms since then.

He is interested in science, history and politics – though he does read the odd novel – and is currently writing an epic story of magic for his son and a tale of a captured dolphin for his daughter. He loves magic and conjuring and can do a little himself. He has persuaded his children to become huge fans of Star Wars and Doctor Who and enjoys entertaining them.

He enjoys listening to music or radio in the car: the family’s current favourites being Damien Rice and James Blunt though Mark is trying to get them interested in the Ring Cycle by Wagner which seems to be working. He loves food and enjoys cooking, particularly curry.

Mark has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel since 1998. This means that he is recognized as a solicitor with the special skills required to represent children either in proceedings where social services are involved or where there is a dispute between parents. This also means that he is well able to represent parents in such proceedings.
