Support team: management and accounts
Virgil Philpott
Virgil is the Practice Manager. He was brought up in Ryde before leaving to study history at Reading University. His background is in arts and venue management: with spells in Yorkshire and Staffordshire paving the way for his return to the Island, in 1999, as director of the Quay Arts Centre. Virgil still loves the arts and in particular ‘vintage’ music. He plays a number of instruments, collects old sheet music and 78s and can sometimes be spotted around the Island singing traditional English folk harmony in ‘The Dollymopps’. When not doing anything legal or musical, he may be found gardening (very slowly) while listening to Test Match Special and trying to keep pace with his two young children, Jabel and Daisy!

Michele Kelleway
Michele is an Accounts Manager. Universally known as ‘Shelly', she is an Islander by birth. She has been with RJR for over twenty seven years and cites her interests as “…walking, Robbie Williams and chocolate!”

Mandy Allen
After having had a career in the city in reinsurance, Mandy moved to the island 11 years ago, and worked as a book-keeper until joining RJR in May 2010. She enjoys long walks on the beach with her family and dog, listening to a varied range of music, reading and travel and has just qualified as a masseuse!

Joy Furmidge
Joy is the database administrator in our Ryde office. She was born and raised in Newport, and joined RJR in 1999. She is married, with two children and two grandchildren, and enjoys running, rollerblading, card making, knitting, sewing, watching athletics, and supporting Southampton Football Club. Joy is, without doubt, the fittest person at RJR - having completed the 2008 London Marathon in under five hours!
Michele Halliday
Michele is a receptionist in our Newport office. She has worked within the legal profession for 30 years. She has one son – which is quite enough thank you! Her hobbies include shopping, shopping and er… shopping!
Pamela Parker
Pamela is a receptionist in our Newport office. She was born on the Island and has worked for RJR since 2002. She has a grown up daughter, Laura, and keeps cockatiels and a conure parrot. Pam likes to keep fit and enjoys travelling (in particular cruises), having been all over the world. She also enjoys music (The Verve and Radiohead) and reading.
Alison Mitchell
Alison is a receptionist in our Ryde office. She had her teenage years in Reading – came to the Island for the day and stayed! She is married with two children and two beautiful grand-daughters. Her hobbies include dolls' houses, card making, cross stitch, reading and walking.
Ann Warr
Ann is a receptionist at our Freshwater office. She was born on the Isle of Wight and lives in Totland Bay. She has been a legal secretary for over forty years and enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and sport (having played badminton for Freshwater and Yarmouth in the Island league for many years).
Jemma Jones
Born on the Island and currently living in Binstead, Jemma worked for another firm of Solicitors for eight years as a legal secretary before joining RJR as a receptionist in 2010. She is married with one daughter and enjoys spending time with her family on the beach, walking, camping and enjoying food, wine and long chats with friends. She is also rather addicted to Location, Location, Location and X Factor (well who isn’t?!)
Sarah Game
Sarah Game is a receptionist. She was born in London and after many years as a legal secretary came to the Island in 2000 where she continued this career locally. Sarah is kept busy with her two young children and her large Dogue De Bordeaux, Arthur. Power walking around the Island's countryside is how Sarah likes to keep active as well as dog walking and adventures in the woods with her family. Sarah likes making driftwood art, reading, camping and taking part in Ryde Carnival!
