First interview / consultation

A first interview / consultation to discuss any Family Law related problem you may have.  

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, then providing you with a written report outlining your various options and any relevant cost implications.

Cohabitation agreement

A cohabitation agreement is a legal document which sets out what will happen to your finances and assets in the event a long term, cohabiting, relationship breaking down.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, preparing the agreement, arranging for you and your partner to sign the agreement, then providing a copy for you and secure storage of the original (if desired).

Pre-nuptial agreement

UK law does not at the moment officially recognise pre nuptial agreements, however, the courts are more and more doing so providing certain formalities are observed.  Broadly these are: that you and your partner must disclose to each other full details of the assets you each own, that neither of you are under undue pressure to sign the agreement and that your partner has independent legal advice on the terms of the agreement.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, preparing the agreement, arranging for you and your partner to sign the agreement, then providing a copy for you and secure storage of the original (if desired).

Pre nuptial agreement - £470

 

Parental Responsibility Agreement

A Parental Responsibility Agreement gives an unmarried father the legal right to make – or be involved in making – significant decisions about his child's upbringing.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, preparing the agreement, arranging for you and the other parent to sign the agreement at the court office, registering the agreement, then providing a copy for you and secure storage of the original (if desired).

Divorce or Judicial Separation (Petitioner)

A divorce is the legal means by which a marriage is ended. The person who applies for the divorce is known as the ‘petitioner’ - with the other party known as the ‘respondent’.

A judicial separation is a decree from a court that confirms a husband and wife are legally separated but which does not end the marriage (for either religious or financial reasons).

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, then taking all the necessary steps and preparing all the papers up to, and including, the pronouncement of the Decree Absolute or Decree of Judicial Separation.

Basic Petitioner Divorce - £895 (including £385 Court fees)

The fee quoted is for a basic, un-defended, divorce. If your spouse defends the proceedings or financial / childcare arrangements need to be resolved there will be additional costs.

 

Divorce or Judicial Separation (Respondent)

See Divorce or Judicial Separation above.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, then completing all the papers and advising you up to, and including, the pronouncement of the Decree Absolute or Decree of Judicial Separation.

Basic Respondent Divorce - £275

The fee quoted assumes the divorce is undefended. If you wish to defend the proceedings or financial / childcare arrangements need to be resolved then there will be additional costs.

 

Consent Order

A Consent Order is a legally binding agreement that has been reached on the financial division of assets following a divorce.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, preparing the order, arranging for its signature by you and your ex partner, forwarding the order to court for a judge to approve, then providing a copy for you and secure storage of the original (if desired).

Advising on an ex partner’s Consent Order

See Consent Order above.

Our fee includes meeting with you to discuss and explain the relevant issues, and advising on the draft consent order prepared by your ex partner’s solicitor.  Then, once you are satisfied, arranging for you to sign it and signing the order too to prove to a judge that you have taken legal advice (without which the order may be rejected).

Change of Name Deed

A Change of Name Deed is the means by which you can arrange to have your name changed legally - perhaps following a divorce.

Our fee includes preparing the change of name deed, arranging for its signature, providing you with the completed deed together with a number of legally certified copies for you to send out to relevant organisations and providing secure storage of the original (if desired).
