Many people are concerned that their legal costs may get out of
hand. For some types of work we are able to give a fixed fee and,
if not, a realistic indication of the costs involved. Where this
is not possible, we can advise as to the costs of each stage and
work within agreed budgets.
There are different ways of funding different types of work, but
in suitable cases we will consider with you:-
No Win - No Fee: funding a case or claim by a "No Win - No
Fee" agreement may be possible. For more details click
here.
Public Funding (legal aid) - public funding is sometimes available
and where it is we will let you know.
Legal Expenses insurance - you may not know it, but you may
have an insurance policy that covers your legal fees, it may
be part of your home or car insurance policy. Your insurance
company is likely to try and push you towards certain law firms
- you do not have to accept their recommendations. Do they have
the necessary experience? Do they have an office near you ?
After the event insurance - for some types of disputes or
claims this may be available - we can help investigate the availability
and explain the pros and cons to you.
Whatever funding arrangements are agreed, these will be set out
in writing for you.
If at any stage you are not happy with any aspect of our work,
then you should immediately contact Ian Pratt who is the senior
partner and in charge of client care. If we are not providing the
quality legal advice you need, then we need to know.
